Português: "Ganhar Coragem" começa com um sonho em que a criança fica assustada. A mãe ajuda-a a libertar-se desse medo. Contudo, e isto é o mais importante. É a própria criança que no fim diz a si própria: " Enchi-me de
coragem / nunca mais tive medo/ desse monstro"...


English: "Winning Courage," begins with a child having a nightmare of a monster and becoming very afraid. The mother quickly steps in to help, but the true accomplishment is when the child tells himself I will never be afraid of a nightmare monster again.
A Minha Inspiracao - My Inspiration:
Português: Os meus filhos é que me inspiraram. Eu costumava cantar-lhes a canção tradicional " O Bicho Papão" e eles perguntavam-me sempre:

- O que é ou quem é o Bicho Papão? Um dia, surgiu-me a ideia de escrever sobre esse monstro mas que abrangesse o maior numero possível de pessoas de todos os níveis etários e que fosse, principalmente, para todas aquelas que precisassem de mandar esse monstro para cima do telhado, como nos ensinava a canção.

E se assim pensei, melhor o fiz.
 
English: My children were the source of inspiration for this theme. I used to sing to them the traditional song "Bicho Papao" and they always asked:

"Who and what is Bicho Papao"? I was inspired to write about this monster because I felt it could reach people of all ages and backgrounds, specifically, all those who need courage to send "their monsters" to the top of the roof, as the song teaches us to do.
